Linked to to my trial account, and I got a chest from the mail for my legacy armor.
So I opened it up, and it gave me 3 choices: (something) Chest, Kryton Chest, and Profane Chest.

The Kryton Chest was cyan, so I think it looks pretty cool. Ready to equip it with my guardian, but it was apparently armor not suited for my profession…

There wasn’t any indication for what chest is and what isn’t. I feel cheated.

Is there anyway to get the legacy armor back for my guardian character? :/

No. But u can buy it from the TP for 800 gems.

Where’s the TP? And what chest should I get for guardian professions?

Actually, each chest does have a description when you mouse-over it.

Light armor for Necromancers, Elementalists and Mesmers. (Profane)

Medium armor for Thieves, Rangers and Engineers. (Krytan)

Heavy armor for Guardians and Warriors. (Primeval)

You can access the Trading Post by clicking ‘O’ on your keyboard in-game.

Submit a support ticket and see if they can switch it over for you. The others are being factitious.

Your other option, if you were fine with spending in game gold or $10, is to buy the primeval set off of the gem store*. Assuming you’re a new player, the in game gold to gems option is probably not going to work for you.

So your option is to a) Submit a support ticket. b) Spend $10 and buy 800 gems to get the primeval set for your guardian, to which I would tell you to get the Phalanx set instead, because it’s kitten.

To be honest, I wouldn’t sweat it. Those three sets are pretty meh.

I would submit a support ticket AND buy 800 gems. Try to get the primeval set back with the support ticket and buy the phalanx set with your gems.

Funny how people say it so it sounds like Phalanx is better than primeval :P
I think you should have a look in the store and buy the heavy armor you like (if you feel like using gems). There are actually alot of cool armors that you can get from just playing the game and also as a new player I advice you to not use your Gem-store armor until you have enough transmugation stones since you will swap armor alot in the beginning.

I would strongly recommend submitting a support ticket to ask them to change it over. For two reasons – firstly because they should be able to fix it for you and secondly because this happens a lot, it’s a very easy mistake for new players to make and the more Anet hears that it’s happened and that people are upset about it the more likely they are to do something to prevent it happening in future.

just to note, the Legacy Armor on the Gem Shop in this game, actually costs 500 gems, not 800. That means it actually costs 6.25 US Dollars, not 10.00 US Dollars. Unfortunately you can only charge a minimum of 800 Gems in a given setting, so you might as well do that. That said because the Primeval Armor costs 500 gems, you can effectively buy something else that costs 300 or less gems, such as a Black Lion Salvage Kit, which has the best Salvage Chances in the game. Or two Black Lion Chest Keys (those are really hard to come by in game).

Use that command in-game for anything you are unsure of, and bookmark the page for quick reference at any time.
The info there tells you that the “Legacy Armor” is cosmetic only; it has no stats of its own and cannot be worn as-is out of the box. It must be applied to armor that has stats that you wish to wear.

I wouldn’t expect an exchange to be made by ArenaNet, since you made the choice for the Krytan Chest intentionally; it was not a result of bad behavior by others. Also the Krytan armor is still quite useful to you. I am sure you do have five character slots to use. Why not start up a Ranger, who could have that Legacy armor applied? (A Thief or Engineer could also use krytan armor.)
