So... how does this LFG work?
There is no dungeon finder and they dont intend to implement one as things stand. Hope that awnsers your question, or at least part of it.

Wasn’t asking about any dungeon finder. Under contacts you can toggle yourself to “Looking for Group”. Just wondering what exactly that does once your toggled into it.
it places a blue magnifying glass on your head, apart from that im not sure sorry. I dont use it.

If you want to run dungeons regularly, your best bet is /g guildchat and your friends list.
The LFG tool is, like a lot of GW2, very old-school in flavor. Social-engineering (altho the rest of the game seems not to facilitate social ties)
The party search in contacts window shows everyone who is also looking for group.
But since the game doesn’t give any indication that party search is there, barely any people are aware of it.
So try your best to tell people about it!
If you’re by the dungeon gate, and there were people set to “LFG” status, it should show everyone who’s lfg
Type this in ur chat: /y LFG AC Explore mode thats a example
All it does is signal that you look for a party.
Since it’s missing all the vital info, your best bet to dungeon run is to go to the map it is in and turn on mapchat, as well as /say chat at the dungeon entrance. If no one’s looking for members (LFM), you can post a message about looking for a group yourself.
Or, of course, organize your own run with guild mates or friends if you have enough in the game at your playtimes.
