…I’ve found it almost impossible to make a profit crafting exotic armors and selling on the TP.

Looking that the prices for materials to buy, then craft and re-sell an item… you’re likely going to lose money.

I’ve been trying to sell popular exotics(Berserkers Light Armor, Ruby Exotic Jewlery) in /map to people on my server. I usually cut a chunk off the listed TP ones, because I would be saving money since I am not using it.

Almost no one wants to buy stuff through mail though.

Kinda sucks being a crafter and trying to make some money

The TP economy (when the TP works at all) is a mess. Tons of people are selling items at or below vendor prices. So many people playing now that nothing is really rare, and a lot of people must be using the TP interface to sell stuff out in the field for a minor loss instead of going to a vendor.

While some of that is true, nothing you said addresses what I have said.

None of the materials needed to craft exotic are “going for vendor prices”. So it’s not relevant. If anything, prices for the exotic crafting are going to go up. Making it harder to make a profit crafting.

There should be some sort of “server trade” option or something, with no tax. So you can sell to people on your server. I can understand the tax because the TP is for all servers(at least for the regions, not sure about worldwide).

But with no option to ‘safely’ trade with people, it’s very hard to sell a high end item without losing 15% of the price.

You cannot sell at or below vendor prices. The interface doesn’t allow you to post it that low. That is blatant misinformation.

You will not make money if you want instant gratification as a seller. The faster you want your gold or items, the more you end up sacrificing from what you could have gained or saved. As it is in real life, so too in the game.

The economy is a mess, that is true. But it has a lot more to do with the trader post being offline most of the time. There was an initial phase when it didn’t come online at all, and people stockpiled a lot of junk in general, this allowed the market to be flooded when the TP came up initially. Since the typical purchase is one of immediate necessity, most people buy what they want/need when they want/need it.

Since they are more often then not, denied the ability to purchase freely, the demand for stuff in general is kept artificially low. But because people are dying to offload mounds and mounds of junk whenever the TP does come back online, supply is still very high.

That’s why the economy is wierd. Use it to your advantage, if you know how.

Why grind dungeons? Only relevant content…
Why? Gives needed gear…
Why do you need this gear? To do dungeons… duh.

Well because of the TP being down for the first week of the game and now on the second one to finally open and to work smoothly for everyone kinda messed up the economy, yes everything is at ridiculous prices the materials for crafting are just insane i saw some materials being selled for like 3 silver a piece, in the moment crafters like you who wish the sell their “creations” are in no luck indeed.. so really if you want to make a profit of it still i recommend just go on a hunt and find the materials yourself. Look them up on Google/Wiki to see from where they drop and just go kill mass amounts of creatures.. may take more time thought will save you a bunch of money. And if not i really recommend to you just do like me and go to Orr have a nice time do some events and just everything you get that is not a upgrade to you try selling it on the TP some exotics are going for insane prices like 2,3 gold and they are really easy to get so yeah, i guess just wait for the economy do fix a bit

It completely addressed what you said about your inability to make money. I’m low on telepathy for anything else you meant.

You can’t list at or below vendor price, but with the listing fee, you certainly can take a loss equivalent to selling it for the vendor price. And many people are doing that. As for below price, I may be recalling incorrectly, or maybe it was a glitch with the TP earlier; but it’s not a planned part of the economy, as you say.

Yes many people are doing that. However you can help fix the problem. Or at least make it better for some items. People tend to just button mash and use the action house as a place to dump their junk. Why? Because it is available everywhere. When they will get there money faster if they just vender it.

Something you can do if you want is buy everything that is listed at too low of a price. Then re-sell it at a higher price that take into account mats cost and similar items being sold at a NPC. A lot of people don’t know how to do that. So they just go with whatever the system tells them. A lot of times this is just something at the vender price.

Something else you can do is not make the problem worse by adding to the “Lowest Seller” Price on things that are priced to low. Place a custom sell order to the price you think it is worth or sell it at the vender.

Also it is important to remember. MATS are the item that is going to go for the most. This is mostly because everyone can craft everything. It just may take them time.
