Soulbound Items After Use
That depends. If it is an NPC bought item, then you can not salvaged them as others have reported (I haven’t tried it yet). But if it is an item you got from mobs, you can salvage those items, sell them in TP, etc.
Both type of items I mentioned are soulbound. The NPC ones, soulbound on buy. The second one, soulbound on use. = Soulbound.
Soulbound means they are bound to your character.
Are you talking about karma items? I’ve heard you can only delete them.
And.. I’m pretty sure I’ve sold a couple of soulbound items(trinkets) to the npc.. (not karma)
I have been destroying them so far but if you have enough space in your bank or bag to keep them, you can use the mystic forge (3 or 4 preferably items of the same type and likewise levels at one time) and you may have chance to get some upgrades. Not so much difference until you are level 70+ or so because everything is very cheap in trade post. Some people use the forge for a chance to get exotic gears from rare gears that cannot be sold or only sold for one or two silvers.
Salvage, sell, or mystic forge. If you are fond of the skin you can transmute. Store them for later if you cannot decide… Plenty of things to do with them.
Why? Gives needed gear…
Why do you need this gear? To do dungeons… duh.
Its the karma items you cant sell or salvage, this is to prevent abusing them to get mats or farming karma into gold. However if you just drag them out of your bag they just get destroyed. Also you might wanna see if you can forge them, i can’t guarantee that works though, have yet to check it out
From my experience, the mystic forge will accept items that cannot be sold or salvaged.
So you can salvage, sell (I assume you all mean to vendors), or use them at the mystic forge (haven’t seen one yet) any soul-bound items that HAVE NOT been purchased with karma. Which leaves world drops and does that include quest rewards too in the “can only be destroyed” classification?
I didn’t consider the source of the items (karma, drop, quest award) as effecting this. Still sounds a bit of a weird rule to designate karma items as only being able to destroy to get them out of your inventory. Perhaps was this done so that karma could in no way be converted to coin currency?
Thanks all, I’ll check into this. This being the case it puts a new stipulation to consider when making karma purchases.
You can use the mystic forge to combine karma items, so far the only item that I have found you can’t is the hero ring.
Karma items, you can destroy or mystic forge, they do not sell to vendors or salvage.
Regular soulbound items can be salvaged or sold or mystic forged.
That should cover your question.
don’t mean to necro this but i didn’t wanna start a new thread. cause i’ve been wondering as well. just upgraded a bunch of gear and i was trying to vendor old stuff and i couldn’t find my items in the sell list, where next to it in my inv, there it is! at first i thought it was a bug, but then i saw it was soulboun (and doesn’t list any value) to it.. so i assumed so…
that’s kind of a shame but it’s a good mechanic to help keep the economy in balance i guess. so i can only destroy or transmutate the skin, if i understand correctly?
and if i were to keep it, it’d sort of be a sentimental thing then? haha too bad can’t take out the sigils in some of them cause they’re pretty awesome. then again, i’m only lvl 38 so i guess i shouldn’t worry too mucha bout them now : )))
p.s. learned that i could try to use ‘em at mystic forge! that’s good t know. thanks!!
