Squad not listed in LFG
Im not sure i get your drift.
There are only two raid tabs, one for individuals looking for a group, and one for groups looking for more people.
There are currently 13 bosses spanned over 4 wings, 3-3-3-4.
But some bosses require sharp attendance, like Xera and Matthias, theyre mot often queued in the LFG tool since they require a lot of coordination

Oh boy…
Squad, sorry! Not raid.
Are all squads advertised in LFG? Or can people make squads and hide them?
I’ve been back long enough I should know this, but have been using LFG to find squads to do things like Shatterer, and I’m realizing that maybe there are hidden squads out there maybe that are doing things in other instances of a zone, but you can’t see them to join them?

No, not alls quads are visible, there are two visible and 1 invisible type
> free to join
> request to join
> invite only (invisible)
I’m confused. While one can see commanders on the map and /squadjoin them (if free to join), LFG doesn’t auto list any squad a commander has made, does it?
So when perusing the LFG panel you’d only see the squads that have deliberately and manually created an LFG entry.
The LFG tool will only list squads which have manually created a listing. So yes it’s entirely possible to have ‘hidden’ squads.
There are a variety of reasons someone might make a squad and not list them in the LFG tool, including:
- For some open-world events the convention is to have separate ‘taxi’ squads for bringing people into the map (listed in LFG) and for organising people (not listed) – the idea is that everyone will join the taxi squad, get into the map and then leave that squad and join the one for the job they want to do. (For example which path they’re on in Dragon’s Stand.)
- There may already be enough people doing the activity that they don’t need to look for more (even if the squad isn’t full), but they do want to use the squad UI to coordinate.
- It may be a private group, like a guild doing a guild mission or friends playing together, again they want the squad UI but don’t want extra people joining.

Squads neither autolist nor autodelist although the delisting would be a nice feature for when the commander leaves the squad.
As I thought. Previous responses to the OP hadn’t answered the obvious so I figured I was missing something.
So to clearly respond to the question the answer is yes, squads can exist without being listed in the LFG tool just as 5-person parties can. LFG listing is an active step requiring text entry by the Commander or other authorized person.
Thanks everyone. I guess on the one hand, that’s handy, but on another hand, it’s a bit of a bummer.
I think it’s better this way. It means if you’re looking for a squad you can be sure all the ones listed are looking for people to join, you don’t have to sort through loads of full squads or squads on full maps to find ones you can actually join. (Those do still come up, but not nearly as often as if every single squad was listed.)
And as mentioned it allows pre-existing groups to use the squad UI to coordinate without having random extra people joining in.
