Hello,

I bought GW2 back at the start but never really played it and i have just came across it again, and i am wondering if if the community is still large enough to enjoy the whole game from the start and warrant installing it and giving it a go.

Yes there’s still a lot of people.

Especially since they introduced a ‘megaserver’ system where non-world vs. world maps are shared between servers. The priority is still to group people by server, but if there’s not many people from your server on a map you’ll be grouped with people from other servers in your region to increase the population, so it’s rare to find an empty map.

By the way if you’ve been gone a long time I recommend making a new character and levelling them up to remind yourself of how the game works and get to grips with the changes (there’s been a lot).

Short answer – Yes.

Long answer – Yes it is. You will see people all over the game and should have no issue finding groups for things like dungeons etc. or finding a guild to join.

I agree with what AdaephonDelat says, apart from the pointless split in long and short answer

Regardless of the total population of the game, the use of mega-servers makes it so you will always come across other people to play with.

Plus it’s a good time with the new trait change. The last system was a bit rough on some players having to go out and unlock individual traits. The new system lets you unlock while leveling and gives access to things earlier.
