Guild Wars 2

I finally talked my wife into leveling a character with me!
We just got her the game and I was wondering:

If we both choose the same race, and same solo story arcs; and perform the same solo missions simultaneously; will they both complete at the same time? Or will we have to complete each “solo story mission” twice to progress through the main story?

I really hope we can just do everything together and not have to repeat content for the sake of the private instances.

You can indeed party up for story missions and let both people accept credit to move onto the next step. Just make sure you’re both on the same story steps. If you want to do the entire PS run together, you’ll need to make sure you choose the exact same options during character select (outside of your class and appearance, of course). For example: if you both choose humans, you’d need to choose to be from the same background (commoner, noble, or street rat or whatever) and both choose the same regret (dead sister, unknown parents, or missed opportunity).

If you are both on the same story mission, the one who isn’t the host will get a notification at the end of the mission asking if they want to accept the outcome to affect their story

Greetings Dan, its glad to hear you and your wife play guild wars 2 together. In terms of co-oping the story it is indeed possible. You’ll both have to agree on a race, back story, and personal question. I suggest letting her pick these as women tend to like to make their character to the t.

For Example: Human→Commoner→Dead Sister→ Any God.

That way you both will have the same story and there will be no conflict. The story instance host picks the options for the story and the party can choose to continue or stay at their mission if they wish to do a different option instead upon completion of the mission.

You’ll want to swap off on who starts an instance. I mean, take turns, so if you start one she starts the next step. The one who starts it gets their character featured in the cut scenes and controls dialogue speed and is the only one who can interact with items in the instance, so you’ll want to share the limelight.
