Struggling with my warrior
easiest way would be finding someone who can help you directly in game (what server are you on US/EU)
for help in forum more info is needed
#what level story quest
#do you have items in all slots
#what level items are you using
#do you have any traits unlocked yet (if you are 10lvl+)
crafting
you start with refining basic materials (for every profession except chef)
then preparing some partial material which directly crafts into item (armor fabric, weapon parts, etc)
then craft some insignias (stats bonus)
and lastly you can combine them to craft item
more on this topic google for gw2 crafting guides
As for your crafting problem.
Depending on your crafting discipline you need to make half products (
in case of a weapon it is two weapon component, e.g. a sword blade and a sword hilt and an upgrade component, e.g. a dowel). then you go to the discovery tab and put three matching components in and hit the craft button. Officially you have to experment, but it is often very clear wich combinations work.
For armor it is again two parts of the armorpiece (e.g. a boot sole and a boot upper) and an insignia. Go to the dicoverytab and put three things in and hit craft.
As for your problems with the destroyer….
No matter the profession your playing you need to dodge dodge dodge them. They have very heavy AoE damage and keeping on the move will prevent them from casting it on you.
You might consider switching to a ranged weapon like the bow or the riffle for these kidn of fights.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I have played Warrior only up to 10, so can’t give detailed help on the profession, but…
-Make sure your gear is up to date. Don’t use gear that’s severely below your level, and try to find, buy or craft blue or green items.
-If you have a lot of trouble beating your personal story, consider asking someone else to join you on the story. Ask around in Lion’s Arch, I don’t think it should be too difficult to find someone who wants to help. Otherwise, study monster patterns. Look good at the animations, and identify which attack is always 1-hit killing you (even though this normally shouldn’t happen, so my guess is you either are severely undergeared, or it’s one of the few very unbalanced story missions still in the game).
Also have a good look at your utility skills. Every class has utility that helps them survive better in a fight. Warrior even has a skill that makes them invulnerable for some seconds (Endure Pain).
To craft stuff you have to talk to the crafting NPC at a crafting station. For example, if you want to be a Weaponsmith, you go to the weaponsmith station, and talk to the NPC there to unlock it. You can have 2 crafting professions active at a time, but you can switch between them for a small fee.
Once you start crafting it’s important to constantly discover new items to make. Discovering makes up the largest part of your EXP gain for crafting, and it’s pretty easy. Although you first need to refine raw materials (make bronze bars out of bronze ores for example). For some refinement you’ll also need to buy supplies from the NPC at the crafting station.
I’m level 15, the quest is level 14. All my gear is 12 or better, my mace and shield are strong, theyre blue I think. I’ve completed 2 areas 100%, I’m in my second tier of skills, went to a different area to do quests. The monster is a harpie destroyer and instead of one shotting me it leaves me with 7 hp. I use block and parry and endurance but it only takes one hit to lose the fight.
I’ve never done crafting, have gone to 4 different crafting tables, see a wall of items that aren’t supplies and aren’t materials I have and had no idea what i was doing.
I usually shield bash which stuns them, then daze them with my mace giving exactly enough time to get into parry stance, countering for good damage, auto atk twice, block, activate my buffs, hopefully get off my burst attack, this works well on normal monsters.
If its ranged I lead with block, if its a mob I swap for warhammer.
Have all armor, no backpack or jewelry, 2 accessories combined +12 vitality.
Hi IronPlushy!
I need to tell you that some of the Asura Personal Story instances are hard compared to those of the other races. I rerally recommend bringing a friend along. (And if you play on an European server, I’ll volunteer to go with you. Just add me to your contacts and whisper.)
When i tried mace i really found the damage is sooo much worse against Greatsword or Axe. So maybe try another weapon that helps killing faster. And else maybe just wait until you are 5 or 10 level higher.
Don’t know that specific boss, but i know some bosses in the Personal Story can be really nasty sometimes.
Just found this via Google :

sounds really not easy.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
So I used a rifle and was able to just barely kill the destroyer harpie by throwing pebbles at it (no lie) and got the next destroyer down to about 40% hp. Found that the great sword is a lot faster and comparably powerful than the warhammer, and that the mace is a bit more defensive than the axe, But yeah the greatsword is absurdly more powerful than any other weapon, and when I see other warriors in the field they almost always use a greatsword which bothers me.
I did some crafting, I don’t think it’s possible without buying materials so youre basically exchanging gold for experience and gear you won’t use.
My gear is good, I’m 3 levels above the quest, survive the harpie destroyer with about 150 hp, it’s still a tough fight, have done dozens of ther quests still stuck on this one.
Get a GS update your items and press 2.
That harpy destroyer was a kitten. I only killed her with my engineer ’cause I got lucky by using 3 when I was dead (explosion).
Dodge is your best friend.
Like I got her with the rifle but I swear my skills missed half the time. I don’t know how to keep my eyes on a mobile flying target and strafe at the same time, I can’t see when she’s about to use the fireball.
