After a looong time i finally managed to buy a gaming keypad (Razer Orbweaver). It’s only 5 days since i’ve started to use it but i’m feeling quite uncomfy with gw2 (prolly because my muscle memory is kitteny tho) XD

I have Naga Hex also, and i’m totally in love with it, using 1-6 and shift+1-6 to cover the skillbar functions but you never stop learning, sometimes changes are good?

Anyone willing to share their experiences with their keypad? What mapping do you like more in gw2? Do you prefer using the joypad to move, to skill, or to dodge/jump/actions? (any pov welcome, but i’d like to get some from www/pvp experiences more).

Ty for any advice, have fun in the game

I don’t use a keypad but looking at the Orbweaver it looks like you could use it in a similar way to my number pad set-up.

I have my attack, utility and elite skills on 1-9 and heal on 0 (just because it’s a big button that’s easy to hit when I’m panicking because I’m about to die) with F1 – 4 dodge, weapon swap and take target/next enemy on the keys around the edge.

I also have my thumb on the arrow keys to move (I’m left-handed so this is my right hand) but using a thumb stick would probably be easier than that.

If you copied that set-up you’d have an extra 3 buttons free. I’d probably set one of them to jump and one to right click so I could use the thumb stick to move the camera but if you’re planning on having your other hand on the mouse you wouldn’t need that. I’m not sure what I’d do with the last one, it’d probably be between stow weapon and open inventory, but both would be purely convenience rather than essential.

(On a related note when I first switched to this sytem it felt really strange and I had to push myself to use it instead of just going back to using 1 – 0, I also had to start with relatively simple fights to make sure I had time to think about what I was doing. But after a few days it started to feel much more comfortable and natural and pretty soon I wasn’t even thinking about it. I suspect switching to a keypad will be similar.)
