Did I just waste 10 skill points on the Summon Power Suit ability? The suit itself looks AWSOME and would love to spend all day in it, but it only lasts 60 SECONDS!!!

60 seconds coupled with the fact it does such low dps and has poor skills, why would anyone bother using this? the cool down takes forever too. I don’t mind it being underpowered if we can wear it as long as we want, but 60 seconds? jeeze, by the time i’ve walked to the mob its halfway run out already.

Any tips on how to use this skill or if there is anyway to extend its duration? cheers,

It does seem completely lacking. I could see a use for it in certain dungeon fights (just for the knock backs), but other than that I also want my 10 points back.

To be fair, with 60 seconds uptime and 180 second CD, you can be using your elite skill for 1/3 of your fighting time which is decent. It’s on par with many other elite summoning skills in terms of duration. I’d seriously doubt they’d ever consider making it permanent.

I can’t really speak on the power of the skills as I don’t have an 80 asura.

There are quite a few skills like this. For example the theif’s basilisk venom only stones for one second, is the only venom with a cast timer, and has a cooldown so long that the one second burst of (admittedly awesome) cc the skill affords you is largely useless when compared with any of the other class or even racial elites.

What you need to remember about racial skills is that they’re supposed to be weak in comparison to class skills by design because arenanet didn’t want certain races to be better with certain classes than others. Racial skills are meant to be lesser utility skills that are usable to add some functionality to your character that the template may otherwise be lacking. This means that even if the suit gets a buff, its still not going to be as good as a comparable class elite skill with a similar function like the elementalist’s firey greatsword or the guardian’s tome.

I play a warrior and I think the Rampage elite is also somewhat useless. It lasts around 20 seconds and has a cool down of 3 minutes, but it doesn’t do much more damage than my hammer. I actually find the Signet of Rage elite superior and it costs 20 skill points less.

I have never used the skill you speak of, but 60 seconds doesn’t sound too bad in comparison to Rampage.

The problem is, you have to summon the suit, get in it, then start using it. Its not just like summoning a guardian for xtra dps, you activly have to stop using your own skills in order to make the suit do anything. So your trading in your good skills for skills that last 60 seconds and are only so so.

Real waste of time and effort. But it does look so awsome, I just wish I could walk around like that all the time, dps bekitten
