I have a friend telling me that the runes stack. He says that you get the full value from each run you have equipped, meaning you get 50% MF per rune for a total of 300%. I told him that doesn’t make any sense and that the runes act as a set bonus like it other games, meaning you get 50% total.

Who is right?

50% magic find. You’re right.

You’re better off with only 5 runes, and one Superior Rune of the Traveler, for a total of 60% magic find.

For pure magic find, yes. But the parrot the full set bonus spawns can take out approx. 1.5 of a mob on his own, and he’s adorable.

Yeah superior rune of the pirate is very clearly OP. I mean a 3% chance of shouting Yarrr and granting might to nearby allies? I mean what does your opponent do to that? They hear you shout Yarrr and just kind of stand there dumbfounded. Way too OP and needs to be removed from game.

On a side note, hadn’t realized that you get full value from each rune you have in, nice to know.

Based on the responses so far, they don’t.

I was hoping I’d get a developer response so I could be 100% certain.

A single rune does not provide all 6 boosts, it provides only 1 boost. To acquire all 6 boosts of a rune type, you need to have 6 runes of the same kind. They do however, each add up, so if you have +25 toughness, and then a +50 toughness, and then a +90 toughness (on a single rune type), you would get in total, +165 toughness.

It’s also awesome when it pops out in a dungeon and runs off to fight some pack of mobs while your group isn’t ready.

I guess I’m not going to get a developer to chime in.
