So that means my character does not get the buffs, right?

The wiki states that it’s similar to the Call of the Wild animation, so I would guess that you do get the buffs. Runes with similar wording, like Altruism, say nearby allies but do, in my experience, work for you.

I don’t have a character with pack runes to test specifically though.
