How does one get this achievement? Ive killed the Shaman to many times to count and have yet to get the achievement.

you can get this achievement by slaying any Svanirs bane not just the shaman. Here is the link to the Dulfy guide

It will give you the best location to hunt the Sons of Svanirs.

I think OP is talking about Svanir’s Bane (the boss achievement). Not Son of Svanir’s Bane (the slayer achievement).

If I had to take a guess, you are doing the “off” events that is similar to the main boss event… but not quite it. Sorry I don’t know the correct term for it, so I know how confusing that sounds.

Check out this boss timer, a lot of people in game use this. Look for “Svanir Shaman” and that is the “official” boss event, and should reward you the achievement. Also, as silly as it sounds.. make sure you don’t already have the achievement. I can’t tell you how often I’ve seen people say that for some reason they aren’t getting it, only to discover they already had it! (myself included)

I do not have the achievement yet and yes its the Boss achievement not slayer achievement.

Ive killed the svanir shaman chief twice since ive posted this and still nothing.

I use the boss timer from dulfy.

I think I remember people guessing that you had to avoid some of the attacks/tornadoes that show up during the fight. I’ve had mine for so long now that I don’t remember anything specific on it, and haven’t been able to check if that was required, so I’m not sure if that would help you.

ok finally got it… only thing done different would be I was in a group. somehow group DPS may play into it idk.
