So as soon as I hit play from the launcher, the game crashes.

I have files d3d9.dll , dxgi.dll and injector.ini in the bin folder

Removing SweetFX the game plays fine.

Thoughts?

This is what has had me to nervous to try Sweet or Gem. I hope you find the problem soon.

I ran the game just fine with SweetFX about an hour and a half ago.

my SweetFX is working fine as usual.

Mines broke, I tried fresh-installing SweetFX again, different versions, etc. nope.
What’s weird about it is that I don’t crash when I press Play, but as soon as the Launcher pops up it crashes the launcher itself.

I had this exact same problem. I had to down grade my video card drivers to make it work properly, so if you have installed GPU updates recently, I suggest a system restore before that. Then install the game update again, and see if you still have the problem.

Got it working, apparently I had an “optional” update for windows: nVidia Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3, updated it and it worked again.

Edit: Nvm, It was working, I played CSGO and after that I came back to gw2 and crashed the launcher… so weird.

so,
-went back to the 347.52 from 347.88 drivers
-re-downloaded all DirectX runtime files
-install weird win8 nvidia WDDM update

and….now it works lol

I was at one point getting this “you are missing d3dx9_43.dll” error while trying to launch the game, which lead me to downloading the latest DirectX files

AFAIK you shouldn’t be downloading the Windows Update graphic drivers if you’re installing the ones direct from Nvidia’s website.
