Is there any easier way to get t6 mats then just random drops from lvl 80 areas? i have around 600 laurels should i just use them all on t6 mats?

Yes, you should use your laurels on t6, if that’s what you want/need. It’s honestly the cheapest way to “buy” them.

If you have the laurels I say do it. if you don’t, there is always item promotion in the forge. Gw2 wikki has all the recipes.

You can also buy the loot bags from the Silverwastes Camp Resolve merchant (second tab, bottom item). They cost 10 crests and a few copper each and I think I average 1 in 4 of them providing a T6 mat. I have not scientifically tracked this so I might be estimating on the high side.

Champ bags are a better bet overall. Other then the bloodstone dust, you can convert everything in it into coin, with good chance of T5 mats (which you can sell), decent chance for T6 mats, and a relatively good chance for Core or Lodestones (which can sell for a lot, and you’d probably need for crafting anyway), and a rare chance at rares, exotics, or named exotics (which can be worth decent gold).

Rare you salvage for Ectos obviously.

For the trash….. salvage “light armor” with a cheap kit, since silk is worth more then gossamer. Salvage metal or wood items for Oric/Anc Logs (if you need more) using cheap kits*, and then selling the mith and elder wood in bulk on TP (or use them for Ascended crafting). Leather armor just sell to the vendor, as theres no profit to be made off the materials. Also, the larger gear pieces tend to yield more material per drop on average; so prioritizing those for salvage is a good idea. I also don’t consider minor runes as worth the cost of recovering… but they make a nice 16c bonus if the cheap kit does manage to save it.

*The reason I say cheap kits, is because all salvage has a ~10% chance of yielding 1 tier higher in basic mats. The bonus on salvage kit types are multiplicative… so the 25% on the Master salvage kit only adds 2.5% for a whooping total of 12.5% chance at T6 basic mats. This is why copper-fed salvagomatics, next to the watchwork picks, are one of the few things worth getting out of the gem store. It’ll take a little while to pay for itself, but salvage operation is extremely cost effective at that level, it beats carrying lots of 25 charge kits, and is way cheaper then trying to use higher tier kits.
