Tar Elemental? Part of a precursor hunt? Though I don’t know for certain, that literally screems for Shoggroth http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_Shoggroth
You find him at Arah P1, may be you wanna give it a shot.
Leader of “Servants of Balance” [SoB], a small guild endemic to the FSP.
I have killed legendary tar at arah 1 but still no core.
Someone knows where can find it?
Anyone had any luck finding this Tar elemental core? Today I’ve focused on Fireheart rise, trying the events that spawns tar elementals but I can’t find it.
A developer response confirming that this is a bug would certainly ease my mind…

i got the core. its a random rare drop from Tar Elemental inSloven Pitch. put a pic to show truth ;P. sow just farm ther
They should have a chance to drop from any Tar Elemental.
It’s weird that there’s no wiki page for the item, there is however a patch note referencing them which says:
“Tar elementals now drop tar elemental cores for players who are able to craft the Rodgort precursor.”
And that was for the December 2nd update.
I got that one just randomly when killing one i was passing when running to a event, so i think it is random. If i remember right i got it from one of the mobs in Cursed Shore close to the R&D waypoint.
The reason wiki has no mention of this is because this is used for Rodgort, probably the most unpopular legendary next to the aquatic ones. Info on its collections has barely trickled in because no one who is working on it is willing to take the time to submit things about it.
I ‘ve got the page for the item now but there’s no mention of it in the collection write-up. Tracked down what it was used for (Fuel for the Fire), which also isn’t in the collection write-up. Are these actual collection items?
