Tarnished Coast World Full
The “Full” status only reflects the players online at that given time. In off-peak hours, it can drop enough for you to join.
I moved to Tarnished from Yak’s Bend recently and also had difficulty getting in. I was able to move at about 1 PM on a weekday, if I’m remembering correctly, and others have gotten in at extreme hours of the morning. Considering that Lion’s Arch wasn’t full for once at 2:30 AM, you might want to try that as well. (I’m on Central time.)
Best of luck, and welcome to GW2!

Thank you very much Falunel!
I was also wondering, if I leave GW2 open on the world selections screen and check on it every 5 minutes, will it update automatically, or do I need to keep reloading the game in order to make it update? Thank you!
I think it updates automatically- Yak’s went from high to full to high when I was watching the other day. I’ll have to check later.

Sorry to jump on your thread like this. I am also waiting for the Tarnished Coast server to open up. Since I will most likely be working when the server let’s up some space I was wondering if I could join another server and then transfer over? Also what happens if I join the server and whenever I get a chance to play it is Full??
Yes, server transfers are free and you can transfer once a week. You will still be able to play on the server if it’s full, as long as you’ve joined it.

Thank you for the quick response Falunel.
No problem. Also, this posting might help:

Forum ate the quote post button (common glitch), but… “what happens if I join the server and whenever I get a chance to play it is Full??”
If you log on and your home server is full, you will simply log on to an overflow server instead. The overflow server is nearly identical to your home server, but players from several different servers will be present. Also, on your home server you get bonuses from the WvW status (so if your server is doing really well in WvW, you may get bonuses to gathering or the like). These bonuses won’t be available on the overflow server.
Aside from that relatively small difference, you can play as you would normally. You are placed in a queue automatically to move to your home server when there’s a spot available, but you can continue to play on the overflow server if you like.

Precisely. I will add that this holds true only on a map-to-map basis. Some maps, like Lion’s Arch, will almost always be full; hence, you’ll usually be put on an overflow if you go there. On sparsely populated maps like some lower-level zones, however, you’l go directly to your server’s map, even if the server itself displays as full.
