I know this has been asked before, but the search function doesn’t work.

I’ve got all the achievements for Teq, save Tail Flail. I hanged out behind him during a battle today, and I didn’t him attack with his tail at all. The wiki says he does it when he stomps, breathes, and… something else, I forgot.

His breathe attack, since it causes fear, is a no-go (unless there’s an item, food, etc. that blocks fear), and I’ve never seen the tail really swipe in a way to dodge it.

So, how does one complete this achievement?

You can use a stun break to stop the fear. Ideally one that also gives stability. I don’t think it requires the breath attack. I did it while I was rolling around that area on my thief so I know I had neither stability nor stun break. If you hang around the tail you will get hit for fairly high damage from time to time(been hit by that a couple of times while trying to destroy tendrils), I am pretty sure that is the thing you are supposed to dodged.

Dodge, run, swim, get exploded by an abomb, jump… any of these should get you what you are looking for. Khisanth makes a good point about not needing stability but it does life a bit easier.

I know I got mine when an abomb exploded me over the tail and into teq =p

I got it this way..but still have no clue whatsoever how and when I exactly did the right thing

When I tried it, map chat said it would happen if you get feared away and that’s what happened to me. I got back there at the start of the fight, was feared away and the achievement popped up on my screen.

I stood behind Teq and attacked his paws from behind, and whenever he seemed to move his body or his tail, I dodged. Eventually the achievement popped up. Seemed very easy, was at my first try for this achievement.

I have no idea which one of the posts here to mark as an answer as they are ALL good answers. XD

I also have Thief, I could use my Ranger instead, but… I like playing my Thief.

She has the trait where if she stealths in any way, she loses a condition (and the longer she’s stealthed, the more conditions are removed). It makes Blinding Powder great against Teq (not so much against Jormag because he breathes too often).

I’ll give all you guys’s advice a try.

I am too one of the “i have no idea how” i remember standing near the tail and dodge like crazy with my 7 fps, then i got heared in the water behind and got the ach. Gratz btw!
