As seen in the screenshot, the floor is absurdly bright. I do not have any post processing on, but it’s really bad looking. [Turning post processing on makes it look significantly worse, it turns into a blurry glow fest]

Any ideas how I can remedy this?

Here’s a snapshot of the settings.

I see you have a resolution of 1360 × 768. That suggests you have a fairly low grade graphics card. (It’s a widescreen WXGA variant typically used to squeeze better performance out of a system that’s not really up to the job)
What colour resolution do you have (Windows setting)? It looks like you may have only 16 bits resolution.
In that case, I wouldn’t be surprised if the colours look ‘clunky’.

Also it seems you have autodetected settings on. It is my personal experience that on low grade systems this option is a bit conservative. So you can always try to use higher settings. Just do one at a time and then play a bit if the result looks better.

Sorry for revivin’ this, but… just checked further into my computer settings and I do have 32bit color resolution, so that rules out my previously selected answer.
