Guild Wars 2

Is anyone else extremely annoyed by this? I’d be content knowing that someone was already using the name but the fact that no one is and it wont let me use it bugs me greatly. Is there any plan to remove this anywhere down the line?

Reserved character names from the first game will be released soon. I believe they were waiting on fixing some issues with the hall of monuments or something.

I tried making my character “Agent Stx” and it said it was reserved… I find it hard to believe that an ingame npc would be called that, but okay… Stx The Shadow is growing on me.

All guild wars one character names ARE reserved for the players that used them, I think you had to login in a certain time frame for you character names to get reserved (Was it one month before release?), and last i read they would open them up a month after release if they had not been claimed. I played GW1 and if i wanted to use my character name from there, I’d be very anoyed if someone stole it. (Esp if you had used it for the last 7 years) if i couldn’t get the game for a few weeks…

I’m also wondering when the names will be released, I’m waiting on my bf to get his char name back, since he linked the wrong account to his GW2 account.

Its not an NPC name, its someone from the first guild wars game that reserved the name. You could try it without a space, guidl wars 1 didnt allow single word names
