Hi,

I am looking for opinions regarding whether i should play a thief or a mesmer as my main. I am a big fan of sPVP and play it often; what makes the decision hard is that i’m relatively the same level at both professions in sPVP. Considering i have a level 40 for both professions and havent experienced the “end-game” PVE areas or WvW; which would be a better choice?

Go mesmer if you want to spvp

I got both thief and mesmer at 80 with full exotics, and would say mesmer. but tbh I recommend waiting for nov 15th, it’s said a big balance update is due. See what happens and choose.

Mesmer is amazing at PvP but is really hard to do event-grinding since they have issues tagging. I don’t know how they fare in dungeons.

Thief is also very good at PvP but the render fix coming up will make them less effective for sure. They’re really good at doing everything though: solo farming, event farming, and dungeons.
