Hi guys,

I have been keeping the starting hood from level 1 till now (level 62) in hope that i can transmute it for endgame. However, i accidentally sold it today T_T.

Is there any way to get the same hood?

P.S I already tried trying to buy it back from the NPC ; too late.

You might be able to get it back by doing the following:

1. Start a new Thief character and pick the same hood. (Item 1)
2. Get the new character to a city and buy the cheapest white Medium helmet you can find off the TP. (Item 2)
3. Transmute Item 1 and Item 2 together to produce Item 3. (It will say that Item 3 is soulbound, but ignore that.)
4. Put Item 3 into the Bank.
5. Retrieve Item 3 from the Bank on your main Thief and transmute it to your final headgear (Item 4). Item 4 should be wearable by your main character.

This is the workaround I used to get back some of my starter headgears after I sold them a month or so ago. However, I’ve heard that ANet may have patched it so this workaround no longer works, so you may want to wait for more feedback from others before trying this method.

I’m pretty sure they patched this in the Nov 15 patch. Let us know if it works Taka!

I’m not sure there are any other hoods atm.

The lowest level medium helm is level 10, to transmute does the new character have to reach at least level 10? Because at the moment it wont let me transmute the hood and the lvl 10 helm.

Yes, you have to be lvl 10+ since you can only transmute item that you can currently equip. The same goes for adding Runes / Gems / Sigils to gear.
