Guild Wars 2

So I quit not too long after HoT released. Logged back in for SAB, then uninstalled. Thinking about reinstalling as there’s not much else in terms of MMOs atm. I’ll just cut to the chase:

1. Is thief/daredevil still horrendously bad?
2. What’s the current state of sPvP?
3. Is WvW still dead?

You already own the game, why not log in and find out for yourself. Everyone’s ones opinion is just that, their opinion. You can also try reading the forum sections for those areas you are questioning.

I don’t understand why people uninstall. Memory is practically free, I couldn’t possibly download more software than my HD can hold before comcast called their gestapo on me.

I was hoping to get some less salt opinions from people by posting in this forum, but maybe I should’ve just gone to reddit. I guess wanting to talk to people in an MMO is taboo now.

I don’t know what got into them, but I’ll answer for you with my limited knowledge. I do main a thief, and a mes.
1) Daredevil is basically mandatory, but thief does work for PvP, i would consider it meta. However: You HAVE to roll D/P to be meta in PvP. DD also works in raids. I personally use a condition D/D build for raids. PvE is faceroll so you can roll anything.

2)PvP is toxic as ever.

3)WvW is dead, but updates ARE coming. They will update scoring, so once everything is back to normal, hopefully it will be improved.

There was no salt in my response. I could tell you how great the thief, PvP and WvW are, but that’s my opinion. What I like about them you might not. You will get a multitude of different responses, why not just try it yourself.

My response wasn’t salty either, I really don’t understand why you’d uninstall and not just play it yourself.

People read electronic communications in whatever mood they’re in at the moment. If you’re in a salty mood, you’ll read responses as salty.

Thanks thunderfall for a real response! If WvW is dead perhaps I will wait until the updates so I can enjoy it more. That’s good that it’s getting updates though.

@Gator and Fluffball: If I wasn’t asking for the opinions of others I wouldn’t have come to this forum in the first place. Kind of obvious that’s what I wanted by my post existing in the first place lol. Also, I uninstalled because I was quitting the game and didn’t want the ability to log back in and am hesitant to reinstall because I don’t want to be disappointed again. Not hard to figure out.

Well something about winning the olympics and such, but no, it is hard to figure out. You came to a forum dedicated to the game that only people who play it a lot would come to and ask us if you should play it. Makes no sense to me. None of it. I would recommend absolutely not installing it though, since I can’t imagine whatever you disliked about it to begin with has changed.

1) I never thought so but it seems your question relates to PvP.
2) Well there’s leagues so it’s fairly active at the moment.
3) There was a major revamp mid April and the Alpine maps have returned. They are currently experimenting with two worlds per side so the less WvW populated servers have decent populations to play with and against. I find that WvW is quite busy since the April patch.

Plus you need a tad thicker skin if those first two posts you considered salty relative to reddit. You also have to realize your title is frequently used to troll players who enjoy the game where an opinion is asked, given by many helpful players only for the OP to declare the game is still a failure and everyone who replied are idiots.

After a dozen or so of these, yeah people come off as defensive.

What is wrong with people in this forum? Are you offended ge uninstalled the game in the first place? If you are then something is seriously wrong. Who cares if he dis ir bit he asked questions about the game, if you don’t want to answer then don’t but don’t insult the tc over it and make it into something its not.

Only two people seem to be offended from my reading the OP and the person above. The answers given where just that all things are subjective and if you like something I may not and vice versa. The only way to satisfy a relative feeling of worth is to actually test it yourself.

Don’t wait. Some updates are already in and others are on the way. WvW is very different than before and I think for the better. Weaker servers are linked to higher tiered servers, game mechanics are different, the elite specializations are in and there is a special reward track.

Agree with Thunderball higher up.

I might add that Edge of the Mist is kinda WvW, anyway I love it, you could try it yourself too.
