Guild Wars 2

As a former GW1 player, I am still wracked with ambivalence about GW2; I miss my two-class accidental synergies, my monk, my old guild. However, I have been playing a fair amount since picking the game up (my to my wife’s chagrin,) and am slowly figuring things out for myself.

What I miss most, and what strikes me as most likely to make me stop playing, is the difficulty in finding groups. My highest level character is 28, so I haven’t even considered entering a dungeon, but the open nature of GW2 (no ‘missions’ or other events that require groups,) means I’ve spent most of my time running around alone, occasionally seeing another player, or participating in the brief orgies of violence known as dynamic events.

So, aside from joining a guild (my last guild I joined after meeting some members as part of a UW expedition,) where’s a good place to find others interested in grouping up? My schedule is fairly erratic, which is why I’d rather find a group AFTER logging in. As much as I’d like to take someone’s name down and plan a meet-up to explore, etc., my 15-month-old tends to derail anything planned too far in advance.

TL;DR – Where’s a good place to find people to roll with?

Both contain posts from people looking for similar things to you, just someone to buddy up with now and again, a mutally benefical relationship.

In game most of us (dependent on server) find that giving a shout out in map chat asking if anyone wants to run together for exploration or event completion works. Best results come from linking in a waypoint to your post so people can jump straight to where you are.
