Before HoT comes out what should I do ? Should I sell my globs rare craft mats..etc

“We’re reimagining progression with our new Mastery system. Explore new training opportunities for your character beyond level 80 and master abilities like hang gliding in the jungle, tearing the bark off of heavily armored Mordrem, or building new collections that earn precursors to a legendary weapon.”

Will they increase max level? Any recommendation is welcome.

No they will not increase max level. They specifically said they would not last Saturday.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I plan to stockpile some gold, Tomes of Knowledge, and Skillpoint Scrolls so I don’t have to go through the leveling system with the new profession. I may end up playing the new content through with the new profession.

My plan at the moment is to continue as normal, at least until we know more details.

At the moment we know almost nothing about the items that will be introduced, how specialisations, masteries etc. will be acquired or anything else that might affect what items we need.

It’d be really frustrating if you sold all your rare mats, and then found out you need them to make something you want, and you just end up spending the gold to get it back…at an inflated price because everyone else is buying too.

Focus on the things we know:
- No new tier of gear.
- No increase in the level cap.
- New Class (the Revenant, heavy)
- New Legendaries and Precursor hunt
- Bunch of new content that likely won’t affect you much, e.g. Guild Halls and new Open-World Challanges/WvW-maps/sPvP-modes. Unless you own a Guild then it might be beneficial to hoard some Merits and Influence just in case.

Things I did / will do:
- Character slot, plenty of Tomes of Knowledge and Skillpoints scrolls, name and looks for my new Revenant. I’d also prepare gear for her, but I’ll simply transfer over my Warrior’s second Armor set until I know how the class works and the meta will flow.
- Hoarding plenty of T6, Karma and Gold in case I love any of the new Legendaries. Some guildies also take it as far as preƫmptively doing map-exploration, how-ever I rather wait and see, I hate exploration.
- Gathered plenty of Ascended Materials and meta-Sigils in case any of the new weapons per class turn out to be great.

I’m suspecting most new content, the Guildhalls, the new sPvP modes, WvW-maps, Open-World content and Mastery-System will be something you actively get rather than purchase, so I’ve done no preperation so far.

What I want to do before HoT is saving enough gold for a character slot and hoarding Tomes. I will either level a Thief or a Revenant, as Thief is the only class I don’t have yet. I will see how interesting the Revenant looks. Once I have enough gold for a character slot I will save even more gold to have some ready just in case I need it. Probably in practice I will end up spending that gold one other stuff before the expansion happens, but hey. x]

I have the same plan but I’ll probably spend my gold too
