How did you do it and how many hours did it take you?
Lvled my theif to 80 in 6hrs the other day crafting 7.5 profesions. But i had 3 other characters and a crap load of gold to waste. Cost about 60ish gold
The wife and I have 6 level 80’s each with another set at 72. We operate as a pair and mix up the adventuring with a bit of crafting, Covering the cities first nets quite a bit of experiance for no real risk or effort. It also gives you a point to port to in each area. Then we hop over to the personal stories and since our character sets are the same race we run as many branches of the story together. (so if I pick option 1 she will pick option 2). Once the storyline moves out of the city it is in we clear the province that it takes us to and then clear the story quest. (including map points and hearts). If the story gets too far ahead of our levels we either clear an extra province or craft our way up to that point.
So as a team with a couple hours a day we can run a set of characters to level 80 in a week.

That’s my plan for when I get one 80 and start making money.

Wow, surprisingly simple. Thanks for the advice
Mainly through exploring the game and hitting up Personal Story on the side. Bear in mind this was back when the game first came out so there were tons of players everywhere and completing DE’s back then was much faster and easier for any zone.
Now? I’d say just craft it up. Crafting is pretty much useless otherwise, so best to make something of it. (At least do Cooking, Artificing, and Jewelcrafting for a free 30 levels.)
i never leveled a char in a week but crafting helps speed up any leveling i have done. 50 levels the most i did in a week and a good part was crafting
1) Have no life whatsoever.
2) Bring food/toilet paper/red bull with you to the computer.
3) Make mad dashes to every quest and event you can possibly find.
4) Craft some pretty shoes for my Elementalist. My boots were eaten by a karka.
5) Do some dungeon speed runs.
6) Oh, hey! You’re level 80.
7) Do some dungeons for cool armor. (CoF)
This is pretty much what I did to hit 80 in about 6 days. The funny thing was, I didn’t realize that I was hardcore leveling at the time because I focused on the quest stories and was just enjoying the time I spent on the quests and dungeons. I would literally sit for hours and began to realize I was spending like 16 hours a day just leveling. So the ultimate secret to leveling is to have no life outside video games at all.
um a week more like 1 day lol its not to difficult if it wasent that i like to akitten on toons or just sit in LA and chat up a storm or go flip to my main to do other things to occupy me lving is a snap once u find a theme to your way of everything runs smoothly
Made my second engie in six days just by going back and forth between instigators in southsun. Though that method isnt available anymore.
Ive got 8×80 characters. Most of them I levelled by farming frozen maw chain when it was on a 30minute timer/loop, before it “got nerfed” to a 3 hour cycle. I also did the Kessex farm chain which was quite quick as well. At the time the fastest way to level by yourself was by frozen maw and kessex was second. Oh and yeah throw in crafting and all that stuff.
tldr: find a partner
I have 3 characters at level 80 and a 4th at level 25. The missus and I played together and leveled up at the same time, using AOE builds. Just gather as many mobs as you can whilst doing hearts, and AOE them down, stagger your heals. With 2 people this takes no time at all
What we found most beneficial was that we had lot’s of time to adventure and have fun instead of leveling. We would set a goal, say, 5 levels and then go find something else to do like explore a capital, a world event, a jumping puzzle, or even just crafting. Little pauses like that remove the feeling of stress we get when leveling.
I got 14 characters to hit lv 80 in one day from lv 76. Before that I had no level 80’s
Total cost from crafting: ~ 10g
fastest record, 53 hours 27 minutes
starter map to 15=>wvw exp train to 50=>craft to 80
about 12 gold.
