I’m new to the game so forgive me if this is obvious to most of you.

My main character, at 25, received an e-mail re: dungeons. It was my understanding from reading the wiki that at 30 I should be able to do dungeons and I would receive further information regarding them at that level. I’m now 32 and still have not received any info. Someone told me that there was some quest I had to do before I can do dungeons — how do I get that quest?

What did I miss? I checked my e-mail, I spoke to the heralds, etc. I’m still not sure how to start with dungeons.

Ascalonian Catacombs is located in the Charr starting area. Ascalon. In the plains of Ashford, you will see the door that leads into the dungeon.

You dont need to do any thing and u get the letter at 25 just go in AC is the low one for your LVL

BTW, I don’t know any of this game’s abreviations. Real pain since that’s all how people talk in chat and I never have the faintest idea what is going on.

AC stands for Ascalonian Catacombs. It’s the first dungeon for lvl 30’s. After that, there’s a new dungeon every 10 lvls, not counting explorable paths. Best of luck to you.

AC = Ascalonian Catacombs.

Story mode becomes available at level 30, and explorable mode is recommend to be lvl 35. If you’re in a party where at least one person has done story, they can enter in explorable and you/the party can join. If nobody has done story, then you’ll have to do story mode before you do explorable. Story mode is different (pretty hard IMO=in my opinion) and won’t give you any tokens as a reward. The tokens are used to get good gear from LA vendor = Lion’s Arch. Explorable mode (3 different paths) will give you 60 tokens (each path) the first time you do it in a day, then 20 tokens after that. These reset every day at a specific hour according to your server (7pm est for SoS= Sea of Sorrows)

There is a 15 character limit because Arena net looks down upon people putting “^” or “this” or “agree”. They hope to discourage small posts that don’t add anything to the actual conversation. Most people put “^ /+15charlimit” or something to fill it out, but those usually get infracted.

Thanks guys! FYI, I just logged back into the game, and that e-mail that I was promised in the email I got at level 25… Well I just got it. There’s a button in the e-mail that shows exactly where the dungeon is lol. Apparently, another requirement is to complete a specific part of your story quest, and then wait (because the e-mail doesn’t come immediately). I’ve been a little behind on my story quest (doing level 26 quest at 30+ and so on) and maybe that is why I never got it before.

So the wiki is actually incorrect. The requirement is that you do a specific level 30 story quest (perhaps in addition to actually being level 30). That’s ‘the quest’ apparently that the person I spoke to on-line was talking about.

To get to the Ascalonian Catacombs, you need to go to the Plains of Ashford zone (Level 15 Charr zone). Its located inside a part of the zone called “Phasmatis Corridor”, or if you already have it, you can use the “Ascalonian Catacombs Waypoint”.

You’ll know your at the dungeon, beacuse lots of players commonly sit outside it, high and low level alike.
