Guild Wars 2

Could somebody help me with this. I have just returned to the game and the trait system has been revamped. I’ve turned 30, used my first trait point on the selected trait line.

My question is this…when can i add a major trait? I got an adept major trait, but it won’t let me use it as it says i don’t have enough trait points. I went on the wiki, and all it says is how to unlock it, not that you need a specific amount of trait points.

“Within a trait line, traits are grouped into 3 tiers: Adept, Master, and Grandmaster. These tiers unlock sequentially as a character progresses and determine how many trait points can be spent in any trait line.”

“Characters acquire their first trait point at level 30 and earn 1 additional point every 6 levels up to level 66, then they start earning 2 points at a time. In total, a level 80 character will have 14 trait points.”

At level 30 you only have 1 trait point to spend on any of the minor Adept Trait Lines. Once you earn your 2nd point you will be able to spend it in a Major line. As you level more you will unlock higher tiers which offer better traits the more you invest into them.
