Transfering to NA - LF server advice
I think it would be more interesting to join a tier 2 or 3 WvW server
not looking to win first place, just dont wanna get crushed constantly ^^
It would be nice to have some oganised fun!
Tarnished Coast is a fun place too, ya know! Hehe. but only if you’re nice and you like RP too <3
TC is decent with WvW but it isn’t so focused on it that its PvE suffers. That’s why I love it.
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
I would Suggest Sanctum of Rall. I will say that we are constantly put up against Jade Quarry and Blackgate in WvW, but unlike them we have MUCH smaller que times and love wiping zergs. If you are looking for a good fight in WvW, SoR is glorious! PvE wise, you just need to find a good guild. I know my guild started doing some PvE for obsidian shards and ended up unlocking all the temples just cause we had a huge turnout from shouting out in LA (maybe 30 of us and like 50 pugs).

Since you’re unfamiliar with NA, some info: the T1 servers are Sanctum of Rall, Blackgate, and Jade Quarry.
Tarnished Coast is technically a T2 server, but in reality it’s more of a T1.5 server. We pretty much roll over anything T2 or lower but get rolled over by anything T1. So there will be extremes in the matchups. From what I’ve seen, the WvWers here are very nice. Feel free to make an account on http://forthetoast.com/ and ask any questions you may have about us.
I’m not familiar with the other T2/3 servers.
PvE-wise, just speaking for my server, we have a sizable PvE population. Much of it’s concentrated in LS zones, dungeons, and train maps, but I always see people out and about in other zones. TC is the unofficial roleplay servers, so you will often encounter RP when going about your business. You are not required to RP, but you should respect RP and be a nice person overall.

Browsing around i’ve heard good things about Jade Quarry
I am on JQ and love it. Garnished toast is an okay server. Although in WvW we do defeat them by a very strong margin when pitted against them. Blackgate is also a strong choice. I know this does not represent their community as a whole, but in my experience, they do have very many players that seek out exploitable locations that allow them to glitch with specific areas of flawed terrain locations that make them invulnerable. Again, I know that those players do not represent the community as a whole, but I have witnessed so many players doing it when we battle them, that it has given many players a bad opinion of the server as a whole.

Any T1 server or TC will have a strong PvE presence and community.
Most servers will have some server wide community events.
TC has additional RP ontop of server events.
T1 will be the easiest to get used to in WvW, really competitive, you won’t get stomped in any week you play in so you can just hook on for the ride. If you are interested in learning to fight and punch above your weight class go to a T2/T3 server such as TC,SoS,Mag, SBI, or FA.
I’ve had the most fun on TC from the servers i’ve been on, but i don’t think you can go wrong with the top 6- just really about what you are looking for.
My moves are fresh, like my groceries.

Thank you very much for all your comments! This has been helpful and informative
One thing it is important to keep in mind, is that you can PvE on any server you want as long as it is in your region.

1. We rarely karma train. If there was one, everyone would know about it, and it would probably be in our awesome forums. 99% of the time when you join our free public TS you will here commanders saying that this isnt a karma train and to bring one of several meta builds. We have stayed mid-rankings in WvW for a while now. We get one or two good sized guild zergs (40-60 which usually thins out as the night progresses) during primetime (5-9pm pst) with solid, helpful and often times funny commanders. Most of the guilds are 15-25 strong. The pugtrain is usually at a minimum, except for eternal and homeworld instance pug commanders. There are a few core guilds that have always been here, some transfers that have been here for a while. Its awesome to jump around in the public TS and get a feel for how each guild operates. Most of our larger guilds are committed to zerg busting, and the smaller roamer types we have seem skilled enough (havent run with them yet). Dont expect running with a guild here easy by any means (there are exceptions), the enemy usually outnumbers us greatly, but when we pull through (which is often enough) the sense of pride and glory is great.
2. The PvE side is decent, but not great. There are Queensdale and Frostgorge karma trains most of the time. Guild hosted Orr temple runs (yes we do them all in one run) every Sunday and sometime midweek another guild does it I think. Um, cant think of anything else in PvE. Oh yea, meta bosses. Always a good sized group for those, most times someone goes to LA to warn people. The LA chat is, well, chat. Not much going on there.
So there you have it. Check out borlis.org if any of this interests you.
