I have an exotic Soldier’s coat with a rune of Balthazar on it. I bought a new Berserker’s coat since I changed my build but how do I move the Superior Rune of Balthazar over to the new coat? Before the update it was just a simple Transmutation Stone which got coveted to Charges.

You can always buy a Upgrade Extractor and get the rune that way.
But is probably cheaper to just buy another rune.

Just buy a new rune. They are like 19 silver.

Or you can keep both sets and just buy a new set of runes.
Its not like they are divinity or something.

This is not a good answer though. What if it were something like Bloodlust or Traveler, I’m not just going to “buy” new runes/sigils. So the new transmutation system isn’t as flexible as the stones? I haven’t tried it yet, but can’t say that I’m surprised…any excuse to make us spend more gold.

Just thinking… If this where a very expensive rune then it seems like the new cool wardrobe and Transmutation Crystals have a DARK SIDE.

They do, I give you the set of Melandru that is useless to me now as an example.

It isn’t, but it also make transmuting the appearence of lvl 80 items so much cheaper, which should be the primary use for transmutation crystal/stones anyways.

But that is the answer, so I’d say it is good. Buy new runes or use upgrade extractors/black lion salvage kits to get the rune out of the old armor. Of course the later won’t work on karma gear or WvW gear. What you think of the new system is neither here nor there. The answer to the OP’s question remains the same.

Buy a black lion salvaging kit and use it to get the rune plus the materials. Of course the garment is destroyed but I think it is still available as a skin.
