I’ve been trying to find a Rabid Scepter for my necromancer and since I’m having a hard time trying to find a exotic one with the rabid attribute was wondering if I transmuted a rabid rare scepter with a exotic one would the stats stay as rare or be upgraded to exotic?

So what I mean is:

Rare:
+56 Precision
+56 Toughness
+79 Condition Damage

becomes

Exotic:
+64 Precision
+64 Toughness
+90 Condition Damage

If that makes sense. I want to change the skin of a rabid rare scepter to a exotic for the skin and hoping that I can change the exotic weapons stats to rabid like the original but have it upgraded to the equivalent rare, if that makes sense.

I’m thinking thakittens probably best to just transmute two exotic’s.

Transmuting does not upgrade an item. All it does is put the skin of one item onto another.

You could put the skin of a rare sceptre onto an exotic one but it would still have the same stats the exotic had to start with.

Or you could put the skin of the exotic one onto a rare, but it would still be the same rare item, it would just look different.

Ah I thought so, figured I better find out before doing it through trial and error as that could be expensive lol

The level 80 exotic weapons can be bought with dungeon tokens. In this case the tokens in CM, TA, HotW or Arah. It will take 5 runs of a dungeon to get a scepter. TA and HotW are the easiest.

Just keep in mind the tokens are accountbound, so you can repeat the dungeon with different characters to avoid DE. The scepter is soulbound on acquire, so make sure you buy it with your necromancer.
