Hello guys haven’t been much around GW2 for the past few months and i noticed the change with transmutation my question is this : I have a piece of armor in my inventory (green aquatic mask) and i dropped a yellow mask of better values and stats. I want to transmute the two items so that i keep the appearance of the new one the stats of the new one but the rune that i have on the green mask. How can i do this ? I have to inform you that the green mask has been bought from a karma vendor and so i cannot salvage it. It used to be easy but now I’m confused (Sorry for my English it’s not my native Language)

Yet there is no way to get a slotted rune other than by salvaging the item. So in your case with the karma item, the rune is lost. You have to put another rune of the same type into the new item.

Actually, there IS a way, but it costs 250gems to obtain….and the new upgrade is likely cheaper.

Again, there IS the upgrade extractor on the Gem Store (250 gems). I would not suggest this for anything short of a high level infusion, but it IS an option that exists in the game. The source of the item has no bearing on the use of an upgrade extractor (as it does NOT salvage the item, just removes the upgrades from it).
