Hey guys, not very long ago I saw a necromancer in my party in arah with glowing eyes. I was soooo in love with it that I made a new character with the eye’s so I could transmute them.

People told me I can, I also read forum topic’s ( 4 months old) that said you could.

But the transmuting is not working, not with normal transmuting stones, and also not even with the fine transmution stones.

Did Anet nerf people from doing so ?

Any advice is welcome, please.

(yes my level is as lvl 10, so is the other armor piece im trying to transmute the glowing eyes with)

No, you can do it – but all the starter gear has issues with this in my experience. The issue of not being able to transmute usually happens to me when I put the starter gear in the right side of the transmute panel. If I put the starter gear in the left panel, it usually works fine.

Bummer. Don’t know how to help you then. Maybe you should file a bug report? I don’t think this behavior is intended.

So I just went and tested this on my starter thief’s head piece and it worked fine. Let’s double check a few things.

1. Did you transmute it to a white piece of cloth head armor with the new necro who originally got the piece of armor? and does it now say “account bound” instead of soulbound?

2. Are you trying to transmute the glowy eyes onto something other than light armor? It won’t work on medium or heavy armor.

I don’t have any other ideas why it might not be working as I was just able to do it without a problem.

Yes, I do both… it’s soulbound

The most common reason for items showing up as soulbound is you’re also transmuting an upgrade. Leave the upgrade slot empty.

I’m not 100% positive but I believe the item will still SAY soulbound but not actually BE soulbound.

Try banking and moving it anyway

I just did this on my Mesmer and it worked. It may say that it is soulbound, however just place it on your bank and your character would be able to wear it since it is going to be account bound now. Just make sure that you use a white light armor headpiece.
