With the old transmutation stones, you could pick skin, general stats, and, if equipped, rune stats independently. After everything I’ve read about the new wardrobe system, it looks like this is no longer possible, but I hope I’ve simply overlooked something.

After wondering why my necro build wasn’t showing the same stats as the tutorial I used, I realized that, silly me, I had bought the wrong armor. However, I equipped a whole set of superior runes of Divinity…and I’d rather not see that gold wasted. (We can’t salvage soulbound armor, right?)

You can salvage soulbound armor, only the armor bought with badges of honor and karma aren’t.
I suggest using BLSK to salvage those, since they have 100% change to remove them.

Last time I tried to salvage soulbound armor with a normal salvage kit it didn’t work (must’ve been something I bought with karma then, can’t remember). So what does BLSK stand for?

edit: Just realized that it probably means Black Lion salvage kit..? XP

I salvaged my soulbound exotic armors couple days ago, to get the Shaman inscription, so I’m 100% sure you can, your armor may be from the WvW (badges of honor) or from a Orr Temple (karma)

Probably, I tried salvaging something I didn’t use anyway. But the stuff I’ve equipped was bought with gold. So thanks for the advice!

I’m surprised thought that nobody really seemed to notice this major change to the transmutation process.

Oh, many complained about that, specially players that bought the WvW armor, added expensive runes and now there is no way to retrieve it, unless you buy the spliter that is even more expensive than the rune to remove it.
