Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I searched the forum for answers and came up empty. And I can’t get in game for a while to check myself.

In short, is it possible to transmute the appearance of a weapon soulbound to character A onto a weapon that could then be equipped on character B? My mesmer has the greatsaw greatsword, and while I dig it, in hindsight I’d have saved it for the warrior I’ve started to level. I also think I’m going to pursue a legendary for my mes anyway.

So can it be done, either directly or through the “common” quality transmutation workaround I’ve seen discussed for orders armor? Or is it totally impossible? If so (and I’d put this in the appropriate suggestions forum if it came to that), what about a gem store item that would allow you to convert a (non-backpack) soulbound item to account bound status until it’s equipped or upgraded again?

@Prince – that’s an interesting suggestion regarding the gem store thingy. where you convert a soulbound item to be accountbound. ; )) why not throw that into the suggestion forum anyways.

that being said, i believe you should be able to use the workaround for orders armour to do the same. i haven’t field tested it, but i know people who’d done the same with order weapons. so i want to assume it’d be the same. and worst case, you’d just have to retransmute the stats you wanted on the greatsaw skin back for your mesmer.
