Well, give some basic info. Ranged/melee, brute force or conditions, support or damage?

This is my first playthrough of the game and I enjoy the mesmer or Ele.
Ele is also getting some really nice changes in the next few days

Have you swapped weapons around a bit? Every weapon changes your profession considerably, and for some professions one weapon does it while all others just don’t feel “right”.

here’s how I figured it out for myself, having a similar problem before:

Make a new toon, get out of the tutorial.
Go to the Mists.
Play around with build / armor / weapon combos.
Find something that makes me say “holy kitten this is sweet!”
Make that a new character.

It’s pretty impossible to give you any constructive advice with no idea what you liked and didn’t like or what you’re looking for.

I could tell you that my favourite class is the ranger, but someone else could just as easily (and accurately) say their favourite is the warrior, or necromancer and none of them would be meaingful suggestions because we’re not you so what we like has absolutely no bearing on what you like.

Take that guardian and keep leveling it, dont focus on leveling but enjoy the beauty of the game, do loads of fun events, do not forget your dailies(!!) and do the story. And you should also be able to do the AC dungeon and even farm it a bit, which will make you level a bit faster too.
Best thing you can do is search for guardian builds and videos of people playing the guardian, look at what they do and decide what you like. Spec towards it and just have fun! Guardian offers a lot of different weapons so plenty of possibilities!

I have an 80 guardian who leveled using greatsword and mace/shield. I just started another one who’s been using a hammer and it’s been a different experience. If you run around with a staff or scepter/torch or whatever other combination it becomes different yet again.

Don’t get locked into one weapon set. Play with all of them and find the one you like the best. Same goes for any of the other professions if there’s one you almost like.

Alts-R-Us ~ All professions at 80 ~ Still leveling characters.
Main? What “main”? I play all of them sooner or later.

I use GS and Staff, I don’t care about the range.

Might try Ele after it gets the buffs.

Where are you having problems? Are you having trouble killing things? Are you getting bored? What is it about a class that makes you quit?

Most of your Exp during normal gameplay is from map completion. That means just run around and exploring. Discover new areas, open waypoints, and do an occasional heart quest. For the most part, your build doesn’t really matter as long as you can run past monsters when you need to.
