Guild Wars 2

Hello,
I am a returning GW2 player who recently rolled an alt Ranger. I’m level 19 now and I wanted to start picking up new pets, but I cant seem to find any juveniles.
Even in places I know juvies used to roam, like the Ruins of Rin, there’s only regular devours and I cant tame those. Do you unlock this ability later on now since the newest patch?

You unlock the ability to tame new pets at level 5. Although last time I made a new ranger I was able to tame pets from level 2 (before I could even see the pet panel) so this might only be for your first character.

I’m pretty sure that tameable pets were removed from the starter areas as part of the NPE. Maybe they were removed from the cities as well.

You can still charm pets but you are unable to change til lvl 5. There are still juveniles in all the main cities. From my experience there is still tameable pets in the starter areas.

I found tamable ravens near the shrine in Wayfarer Foothills.

I’ve just checked Rata Sum and Hoelbrak and juvenile animals are still in both cities.

OK sorry about my wrong info. I haven’t looked for juvenile pets in the last year or so but according to some posts on the forums some of them have been removed from the starter areas, just not all like I assumed.
