Q:

So, I saw a topic a while ago asking something similar to this, but the answer given doesn’t match what I’m seeing in the game. Basically, as a Sylvari who only wants to wear armor made of leaves, I have very little options. I’ve been wearing the T3 Cultural armor because it’s the only armor that doesn’t look horrible in my eyes, but dying it, especially the glow, is an exercise in madness. Thankfully, the Twilight Arbor armor dyes much easier, even if the patterns are a bit weird, but one thing I’ve noticed is that it does not glow at all. The previous thread said it did glow on Sylvari and something about the color relating to skin color, but I’m just not seeing it. I’ve removed all the dye from the armor and went into the total makeover kit to toggle the glow, but it’s just not showing up. Was the other poster mistaken? Does TA armor not glow after all? Am I stuck with the cultural armor if I want any sort of glow? Are there any dyes that might help with the glow factor?

Thanks.

I haven’t worn it for a bit but I do recall the sleeves on the light TA armor glowing in a pulse in time with my own glow. My sylvari all have glow at max brightness.

I had it dyed in light colors.

Was it not your normal character glow coming through the armor? Like with the medium strider armor where your character’s leg glow shows through the mesh part of the legs and back.

I would try and find a video on youtube showing the armor to see if it’s glowing on someone else’s machine. If you can find visual confirmation that it happens then you’ll know it’s something about your machine that prevents the glow.

It was definitely the armor. The sleeves bell out well away from the arms, plus the glow color was the cloth dye hue, not the skin glow color.

wiki

Twilight Arbor armor is a dungeon armor set purchased from Valiant Saeraquel using Deadly Blooms, a token obtained while completing Twilight Arbor explorable mode. A full set costs 1,380 Deadly Blooms. There is a set for each weight in 3 different prefixes: Rabid, Magi’s, and Rampager’s. All pieces are exotic and have a level requirement of 80. This armor glows, and dye channels blend into one another, so dying this armor can give unexpected results.
