I looked at all the restrictions on naming a character in-game and nowhere does it say that the name must be unique. Which is rather weird but really awesome if that’s true. So my question is, is it? Do all character names have to be different in at least one little way or have they implemented a system to where anyone can make any name they want and use it?

No, character names are unique. When creating new characters you will be told if a name you type in is unavailable because it is already in use. If you delete a character and want to reuse the name on a new one you only have 24hrs to do so before the name goes back into general circulation. Also, if you choose to use a renaming contract to change the name of a character, you have 24hrs after doing so to revert back to the original name (will require a 2nd naming contract) before it too goes back into general circulation.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. While it’s too bad that I can’t choose any name, I also take a little pride in the fact that my name is MY NAME. :P

Just to be clear ( or confusing )…

ImaGod Smith and ImaGod Jones are different but similar names.
