Guild Wars 2

Waaaay back before name change contracts and makeover kits, I had a character. I got the first version of the Halloween event Mad Memories book on her, but not long after that, I decided that I wanted to change her name for lore reasons, so I stuck the Mad Memories backpiece in the bank, and deleted her so that I could remake her with a new name.

I kinda forgot about it until now when I was cleaning up my bank, and I saw the book. I know there’s a trick to unbinding items to use on your other characters, I’ve done it with my ranger main to give her the Anonymity hood, but back items are kind of an oddity and I don’t see a way to get that trick to work. Plus the Mad Memories book is Unique, so it doesn’t seem to let me transmute it in the first place.

So I guess the ultimate question is, did I kinda screw myself out of using the Mad Memories book now, since its original soulbind-ee has been deleted? Or is there a way around?

since you deleted the original character it was soulbound to theres nothing you can do apart from delete it I’m afraid. if the original character still existed, you could have transmuted it (did this with mine and it now lives on an alt), but you can only do that using that original character, which is gone. sorry

Not sure if you’ll check back to this thread as a bit more than a week has passed, but I’d suggest trying to go straight to support and explain your situation. I’m not sure you can get the item back, but it’s worth a shot.
