Hi,

If I get Unlimited Tools from the Gem store, and have them in shared slots, do my characters need to equip and unequip each time in order for other characters to use them?

If I don’t have them in shared slots, I guess I need to put them in the bank to transfer between characters, correct?

Yes you need to equip and unequip them each time even from the shared slots. (easiest done by having copper tools on all your characters so you can just click them when loging in and out)
And yes to second question aswell.

I use them in the shared slots. To make it work, I had to change my habits: first thing (and last thing) I do when swapping toons is to double-click each tool. On swap, that gives them the everlasting tools; before re-swap, that returns the original tools to the toon. Three double-clicks, twice per toon; not 100% convenient, still a gazillion times better than using the bank or sticking with regular tools.

Yes, unfortunately you have to manually swap the tools if you want to move them.

With shared slots, I tend to get higher quality tools for the placeholder ones for easy swap because sometimes I will forget to swap and fail to gather with the unlimited tool. ATM, I’m putting in the unbound harvesting tools so I get something when I screw up at least.
