"Unlock" Recipes ?
I would assume that ‘unlock’ means that you have to have the recipe and consume/read it before you can make the item. I don’t know whether it is the recipe that is supposed to drop from the dungeon boss or whether it is purchasable from a vendor (like other crafting recipes).

I have been wondering this myself, as a leatherworker wanting to make full armor sets. Though the map says some vendors sell recipes, when I examine their wares, they have the same 3 or 4 food items for karma… nothing more.

From my very short experience, “unlock” means that the profession trainer has this recipe for karma.
Yeah, but I’ve already gone to the profession trainer, and he got no new recipe …
That’s very strange. The strangest thing is that there were already some of these new items at the TP before release of the dungeon and the island …
Some older recipes (like the boxes of armor) need unlocking as well and are learned by putting the right combination of stuff in the mystic forge. The result of that forging is a recipe that can be learned. You can then produce the item, which usually requires other ingredients than the learning process.
My guess is that how it works with the new recipes as well.
Nop, it doesn’t. As I said, I tried but you cannot put Ascalonian Tears into the Mystic Forge so it’s impossible to get recipe from Mystic Forge

As I said, the materials needed in the mystic forge to GET the recipe are usually different from the materials needed to CRAFT the recipe.

Perhaps its a rare drop?
It is definetely listed as a jeweller item here , so perhaps the mystic forge is not involved at all. Not meaning to patronise, but you are a level 400 jeweller aren’t you? If you have not reached this level yet you will be unable to craft this recipe.

Edit: I see from the comment posted at the link above from Katz that you do need to ‘find’ the recipe first (as an AC drop) and then you will be able to craft it at the jewellers. Looks like you’ll have to keep framing AC until it drops for you

Yeah, indeed , it seems I’ll have to farm lol. Worst thing is I’ve kept farming AC for days and days, never seen it yet, same for all my party members O_o.
Must be VERY rare drop.
I think it would be cool, if mobs would drop food recipes.. and I don’t mean for just higher lvls either.
There would be no point to discovery mode then, and the game would start leaning more towards any other mmo based around grind for what you need to craft. Nty, discovery mode works just fine for me

~I could promise you the same…but it would be a lie…
Yeah, I like this idea of discovery, very good. But those recipes you have to drop, so it seems :o
I understand what you are saying here Nay, what I meant was to have something different besides everyday things drop.. like sometimes a recipe. To me it wouldn’t take away from the discovery area. I find that fun also.
Was just thinking aloud is all. I like cool different things to drop at times. Makes it exciting to me & the fight worth while.
I really can’t understand … I’m seeing more and more of those trinkets at TP but, despite my farming dungeons, I never drop any recipe … Something must be missing so as to be able to drop them …
