Unsure about class, need some insight please.
Reaper. Ranger doesn’t seem to be doing well in spvp, but don’t take my word for it.
Absolutely Reaper. In PVE, it really doesn’t matter what you pick. However, there is still a bit of stigma against the Ranger because too many don’t know how to control their pets in Dungeons/Fractals and Ranger doesn’t bring much desired to Raids. Necro is highly effective in virtually any section of PVE if built for it.
In SPvP, Reaper tends to do better than Druid (or vanilla Ranger). I don’t do much sPvP, so that’s just an outsider’s observation.
In WvW, Reaper is a very popular class in demand for organized raids, while the Ranger in any form is the red-headed stepchild that no one wants. I’ve seen so many experienced commanders refer to Rangers as the worst class in the game.
All that being said, Rangers (and Druids) are a LOT of fun to play. They just aren’t the optimal class from a game mechanics standpoint.
Right now druids are a lot more represented in PvP than reapers, including the pro leagues. The caveat is that is totally meaningless because it changes all the time. I just wanted to put up a counterargument.
It’s playing whack-a-mole to try to pick your main based on what’s hot today, because it will change tomorrow.
I love Druid, don’t get me wrong. In any other content other than pvp, I would say it’s an even split between the two. Thus I looked at what I’ve seen on the forums about pvp (I don’t play pvp of any kind, so I just go by an aggregate of what I see across the profession forums), and I know that reaper was one of the top three classes used at one point recently, and ranger/druid hasn’t been the entire time I’ve been playing gw2. So that’s why I suggested reaper.
Reaper is out of fashion currently, and druid has been one of the more popular professions including almost every pro league team running a druid. Again, totally meaningless though.
