Guild Wars 2

So, I’ve been playing since the 3day head start I am currently playing a thief and rather liking the big hitting numbers, my first toon was an engineer and I rather liked that till I saw the damage I was missing out on with my thief. Both classes are are really great and have their ups and downs, my main annoyance I guess is trying to get into CoF or arah exp mode, not knowing the fights all that well for Maggs run and my thief likes to get in front or the enemies attacks and die in 1 or 2 hits, yes I’m not that great at dodging and only get it right half the time, while doing the same thin on the eng I miss my big hits and feel the little support I do add via healing and so on doesn’t make up for the damage loss.
I’m looking for opinions or input form others on what class would be something that hits hard while also being a good support or group member in general I used to play ritualist(6years on gw1) on the 1st one if that helps, I don’t mind starting a new character(still need the vigil banner) I’m leaning towards a warrior or guardian, the thieves squishy-ness almost puts me right off the class, being 1 and 2 hit isn’t fun in a dungeon, when and if I can get in one seeing I haven’t done many.

So, you want a top end damage tanky support? Doesn’t exist sorry.

I knew that, I want to be helpful to the group and not a sub par support with near no clue, and I don’t want to be a corpse on the ground being useless to my team because I’m not that great at dodging

Go with Guardian they’re an amazing class and if spec’d for support you get to hang further back than the melee guys, of course you also have the option of speccing for dps if you get bored with a support role.
Even spec’d for support you can and should still be doing some dps, gotta get used to the idea that there are no “pure” roles gw2.

if you want to be support then i think the best would be guardian.mace and shield , got alot of protection for the party and more healing spells u can get in utility skills.. but its not really an answer cause i dont know any that is high damage and also good at support.
but you can of course take power , precision , thougness in traits or something like that ..

I was looking into guardian it looks like a lot of there skills from what I see add boons buy just attacking and would work a little like a ritualist, being able to go damage or support or even tank. I’ll look into it and start playing one get it up a bit see how I like it thanks for the input
