Depending on what motherboard, CPU and ram you want to get, you could top 500 very easy.
If you are just going to be gaming, go for an i5, and 8-12GB of 1666mhz ram. If you want a gaming motherboard they will cost easy 100+. Also you may need to buy a cpu cooler, so that will run you between 25-30 on the “cheap” but good end. But you could easily spend double or triple that depending if you want to go into overclocking at some point.
You also need to keep in mind the size of your case. You don’t want to buy a motherboard that wont fit in to your case.

Thank you BrotherBelial, it’s only for gaming, I was thinking of 16G ram, so would be core i5, and what you think, should be 6400-6500-6600? I don’t wanna do OC.
As for the board, my case is very big, can handle almost everything, its the zalman z11, I have a huge cooler inside,
Xigmatek prime SD 1484, if I go for ddr4 I was thinking of MSI H170A GAMING PRO, if ddr3, Asus B150 Pro Gaming D3, but I wanna spend less possible and get the best possible
Don’t know if I’m getting clear.

DDR3 is quite cheap at the moment, can get 16GB of HyperX Savage 1666mhz for £80 ish. And an MSI Z97 gaming 3 motherboard(is sli capable also if you ever want to do that later on.) for £107 ish. And an i54690k for around £170.
As far as the DDR4 stuff goes, at the moment, the price vs performance increase is still on the high side for me. But that’s up to you if you want to pay that. As it is a performance increase and people place different values on what is worth it an not.
