Wiki is ambiguous on this and I am getting different answers in chat (from the same person, in fact…).

If I use the Gift of Quartz on “Character One,” can “Character Two” find a node in their home instance? -> This is the question that I want answered.

To avoid the problems I had in chat, here are some things I am NOT ASKING:
1. I am not asking if two different characters can both mine quartz the same day.
2. I am not asking in what city’s home instance the node appears.
3. I am not asking how to use the Gift of Quartz.
4. I have not deleted the Gift of Quartz. I am not asking how to get a replacement.
5. I am not asking how to get a second Gift of Quartz.

Edit: Okay, there was nothing in this resembling a swear. Why are the forums replacing my text with “kitten”? That is really annoying. “Kitten” replaced a string of text including the word “not” which changes it to the opposite meaning. I don’t want the forums editing my text to turn it into the opposite meaning.

I don’t have the quotes handy but I do remember a dev clarifying some things on the forums about it.

IIRC Basically, the way it explained was that it’s account bount, you use the gift of quartz on any character, and then when you enter your home instance with any character (not only the one that used the gift of quatz), the quartz node will be there for you to mine, but once you do mine it, it’ll be depleted when you enter again with any character until the next day.

I’d like to clarify this for you and everyone else: Once you have unlocked the quartz node, it will unlock the node for all your characters, though the node can only be mined once per day per account.

Additionally, the node will appear in all home instances (again it is the same node so only once per day).

This means you can log onto any character you want, go to any home instance you want, and mine your node.

Yes. My asura used the Gift of Quartz and my human character can enter the human home instance and find a node.

I found that you do not even have to be in the character’s home instance. I took my Norn ranger into the Dreamers Terrace instance in The Grove and found the Quartz node and was able to harvest it. So it looks like you can use any character in any “home” instance to harvest your node.

I really wish that like the actual game all language was allowed and again like the game there was a filter so if need be people can still see the “kitten”. Really don’t understand this, is it something to do with it being a public and so free site to get to that does not allow this?
