I’m looking to get a new PC sometime soon in hopes to run GW2 at a higher setting than I currently do. Presently I’m running on low beyond low settings as my 2 year old Lap Top is the only thing I play it on.
So anyways.. looking at this PC I see the video card is an Intel HD Integrated Graphics card.
My question to the community is, will this be able to play the game at a medium to high setting?
At medium yes, at high I really doubt, and that will also depend on the CPU, can you post a more detailed spec of the PC you want to buy?
Intel Core i5-4440
8GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz
Sadly it doesn’t tell me the CPU..
Unless that Intel Core is the CPU.. idk. I’m a PC Noob when it comes to the technical side.
Yes the i5-4440 is the CPU. It includes a small low end GPU, the Intel HD Graphics 4600.
if you’re using that GPU, the Intel HD 4600, then it may be that you don’t have a dedicated graphics device. In that case you’d have to buy one and possibly buy a power supply to accommodate the dedicated video device. Intel i5 4440 is a decent processor.
always want to avoid integrated graphic cards and get a dedicated card
Thanks everyone. Yeah I’m now looking at a better Alienware rig instead that’s only slightly more expensive.
Thanks for the input again.

Not always. There might be something that you’ll never need one.
If you’re looking for a gaming laptop, then Alienware is… meh. If it’s a desktop, then there are much better, cheaper alternatives.
Tigerdirect, newegg, and my personal favorite http://www.directron.com/gaming.html have great choices for much lower prices.
GPU > CPU > RAM > HDD RPM . These things are what you should be concerned about [in order; and a motherboard to support it of course]
Graphics-card wise, you do NOT want an integrated card for gaming. Don’t do it. If you’re concerned about price, go for Radeon – more bang for your buck at lower to mid-high tier. That being said Nvidia will almost always have the best graphics card available on the market.
CPU, get at least a quad-core processor.
RAM, get at least 8 GB; if you use more, you’re going to have to make sure your version of Windows supports it [Windows 7, 8] http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa366778%28VS.85%29.aspx#physical_memory_limits_windows_7
^ A LOT OF PEOPLE DO NOT CHECK AND GET MORE RAM THAN THEIR VERSION OF WINDOWS ALLOWS USE OF. BE SURE TO CHECK AND UPDATE YOUR OS IF NEEDED!
Your hard drive RPMs don’t matter TOO much, but I always prefer to have 7200 because of slightly faster loading/access to memory. Of course SSD will be the fastest [whether they’re worth the money yet is still up for debate]
I hope this helps.
