Warrior build
Also, I wouldn’t mind having a great build for pure offense. High amount of damage with GS and Hammer, any tips of where to put my trait points at for that would be great as well!
I’m assuming you are looking for WvW builds. I wouldn’t recommend using mainhand Sword unless its with a (Sword/Sword) condition build. Theres no real synergy with Sword/Shield in a Power build unless all you want to do is tank and thats it. Mainhand Axe has much better dps and you can also try Mace for a Skullcrack build, but I haven’t used/seen very many of those in WvW lately so idk if its still worth getting into. If you are still intent on using the Sword its a good offhand alternative to Shield. Try out some Axe/Shield or Axe/Sword builds which are still pretty popular right now. There are many different variations so see what works for you and tweak it to your liking.

Since warriors have a naturally high base armor/health we are tanky enough to survive in full Berserkers gear if you know what you’re doing. For more survivability you can change out the armor for Knights/Soldier, but of the two I’d go with Knights for the extra Precision.
With the recent nerf to Rune of Strength its no longer the top spot making Hoelbrak/Melandru a more viable choice than they were before. Both are excellent for the (-Condition Duration). Go with Hoelbrak if you want to be more offensive or Melandru to be more tanky.
These builds will also work in PvP so if you decide to try them there consider swapping out Greatsword for the Longbow and adjust the traits accordingly. Either way it should still be fine.

Warriors have a good HP pool to work with, so if you are looking for a tanky build that still does damage, try mixing in some Knight’s gear with your Berserker’s. The recommendation I make to all warriors who just hit 80 is to try Knight’s armor with Berserker trinkets (weapons either Knight’s or Berserker). From there you can start swapping out gear based on your playstyle and build that better suits you. Hoelbrak runes are also a great starting set for new warriors in WvW, as condition builds are aplenty there.
GS and Hammer is an excellent starting set for WvW. As a warrior, you have high mobility assuming you are using a GS or sword in mainhand. Take a look at some of the builds Highchu has posted, especially the last one. Shout healing builds are one of the easier builds to get into the swing of things in WvW, and your teammates will definitely appreciate your presence.
I would disagree about the synergy of a sword in a power build. A sword mainhand is more of a hybrid weapon – Final Thrust is especially powerful with a power build. There is also the mobility aspect (if you are not using a GS as your other weapon set), and to a lesser degree the sword burst skill is nice in groups to lock down opponents.
Thanks a bunch! Both of you!
