Wasting My Laurels
Some T6 mats have a good shot at going higher in the long run (Venom Sacs), while the others will likely only have the initial spike that would come from having the market start to exist again (as of right now they’re all in a decline due to extreme lack of demand due to no new sinks) and will settle roughly back at slightly higher price than they are now (not so high as to be particularly relevant, but still higher where they are now).
The price for trading laurels for T6 mats isn’t going to change even if the price for them on the TP does, so there’s really no reason to stock up on them in advance.
I would save the laurels, since it is a time gated currency and it may have more or even better utilities in the expansion, spend them may be a bad idea.
My suggestion is to invest extra gold you have in T6 if you want, or maybe a part of your laurels, like keep 150~200 laurels with you and spend the rest.

Hey guys, thanks all for answers!
My point is: Since we can get “free’s” precursor (with collections) on HOT, maybe ANET will “balance” the market, making T6 mats mare harder to get, to keep legendarys rarity and dificcult to get.
Im affraid they will remove Heavy Crafting Bag VI from laurel marchantes. Of course, its just speculation, i have no idea/informations about it.
They will not make them notably harder to obtain, if at all. What is very likely to happen, however, is that they’ll make them more and more relevant to doing anything. Want to get that precursor for “free”? It requires an item bought from a vendor that costs 250 T6 mats. Want to make that new Mystic Forge recipe? It’s going to cost you an arm and a leg in T6. As it stands, T6 is in a good spot (sans Venom Sacs) for how easily it’s obtained vs. what it’s used for. It takes quite a bit of time to make any given item that requires a significant amount of them, yet is still in the realm of “this is actually doable through farming the material itself” (unlike something like the Precursors or things that require Silver Doubloons/Giant Eyes). There are some times where this is broken, and the items are excessively hard due to T6 vs. how actually relevant they are (the Fine Infusions are the easy example, as 100 T6 per infusion is utterly absurd for how irrelevant they are), but the general scale of things is reasonable if you can get over your personal tastes (such as if you hate a specific skin that costs a ton of T6).
And that continues onto the Heavy Crafting Bag. There’s little to no reason to actually remove it from the Laurel Merchant. If anything, they need a way to actually cause people to use more of their Laurels on other things, and potentially drain people’s Laurels outside of just the T6 materials. Unidentified Dyes can potentially get there, as if they equalize with the T6 materials (they probably wont, but it’s always a possibility in the extremely long haul) people who do it strictly for the money value will switch over and get them for the value. However, the amount of things that can be obtained outside of effective gold are fairly lacking. Especially if you played the events that they came out from (cutting out the LS1 rewards section pretty much renders all of the Laurel requirements non-existent). This leads to the only actual sink for Laurels to be the T6 material bags.
Yeah, ANet probably won’t change anything about T6 directly, what will be likely to happen is that demand of them will rise since many players will start to craft more legendaries and each one consumes at least 250 of every T6, and with demand rise the prices also rise.

Not to forget all the new revenants that will need gear which might require crafting and T6 mats.
- There’s some chance that they will change the cost of T6 mats, since it’s by far and away the most efficient laurel:coin conversion method at the moment. (It’s also used by people buying multiple accounts — I don’t know if ANet likes that since it gets people to plunk down RL cash or if they think it does bad things to the economy.)
- There’s a good chance that collections in HoT will require different mats or more T6 than anything we’ve seen before — I think it’s impossible to predict.
From my point of view, I don’t think we know nearly enough today to predict what’s going to happen. Arguably, we maybe are in the same position we were in last year: ANet could create disequilibrium in the economy for various reasons any time they think there’s a need.
Consequently, I’m spending laurels now when I can get something I need/want; I’m not worrying about what I might need in 6 months.
I don’t think they’ll be harder to get, given that we’re also getting new rewards for partecipating in map events (blog post some time ago on new rewards that change weekly, supposed to be cores, T6, etc…)
