I hav recently aquired a Legendary, only to realise the stat it provide is not wat I would perfer, the normal solution to this problem is to use transmutation stone, however after asking around, someone told me that once u transmute legendary with an exotic weapon stat, the legendary weapon would become exotic instead, losing its purple colour.

After working so long for it, I obviously don want it to lose its legendary statues, even though I don feel purple is a really cool colour for it. Further more I remember Anet mentioned something abt introducing ascend weapon in the future, and that legendary weapons wil get an auto upgrade into ascend stat, now if I transmuted my legendary, wil I stil b getting that free upgrade?

I forget where I read this but if you transmute your legendary to an exotic, you will lose its ability to move up to ascended stats.

Thx for the info, that is wat I kind of expect too, but the question then is that wil this be fixed or is it working as intended?

The thing is its kind of limiting that all legendaries offer power, vit and toughness, we should b given the option to transmute it with desired stat like other items.

Transmutation stones don’t change the stats of a weapon, they change the skin.

In other words you’re not putting the stats of an exotic weapon onto the legendary, you’re making an exotic one look like a legendary, but it is still an exotic weapon.

Thx for the explaination and it makes sense, but I would like to know if this is functioning as intended, in otherword does Anet intend all legendaries to only hav 1 type of stat and is also unable to change stat through transmutation?
